Default 1995 Tahoe have TBI or Vortec?

I'm looking at a 1995 Tahoe 4 door. Does anyone know if these have the TBI or Vortec 5.7? I've seen various answers online, probably because this is the first year of the 4-door and somewhere around the changeover from TBI to Vortec.

You're mixing up your terms there.
Vortec refers to a head design and TBI refers to fuel injection. Some Vortec engines had throttle body injection

According to wiki, Tahoe got port injection in '96. It should be easy to recognise with a LOT less hoses going to the throttle body.

I'm really asking if the engine is referred to as the 5.7 Vortec V8 and not the 350 TBI. So I'm wondering if the 1995 Tahoe/Yukon had the Vortec or TBI.

With this change also came the change from OBD1 to OBD2, which generally I know GM adopted in 1996.

No where in your link tells me that the 1995 Tahoe/Yukon uses the TBI and the 1996 and on use the Vortec. I had to spend twenty minutes looking for that info.

If you know an answer to a question, please just give it.

It might help if you actually explained what you're trying to accomplish

No come on, everyone here knows exactly what I was asking. Does the 1995 have the L31 or the L05?

I didn't know that L31 was the engine code until after I asked this question, so I didn't know why reading about that was relevant.

Just answer a person's question and then follow it with a source and ELI5 commentary. Very easy to do.

Anyway, I found what I needed in a roundabout way. Thanks for your help.

the code doesn't matter. It says right there black on white "1996–2000 Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon"

um nope.
everybody does not because I don't see anybody else answering.
It's hard to know what you're asking , because I still don't understand what you're trying to accomplish.
So you want to look at an old truck, and ...... ?

No, I'm complaining about your inability to answer a question.

I phrased that question simply in the title, and I repeated it after you responded with some meaningless description of head designs when you knew exactly what I was asking.

Then instead of answering, you sent me to a link, where I didn't know what I was supposed to read.

Remember, you have no idea why I'm asking this question, so you didn't know that I'm asking about a vehicle I'm thinking of purchasing and I don't have the VIN.

But again, all you had to do was answer, "The 1995 had a TBI and not the Vortec. Here's a link."

That's all you had to write. I didn't need to know anything about the L31.

Just answer a person's question, don't tell them where they can find the answer.
