Post 1995 Tahoe - tire wear - suspension - front end linkage

Info: 1995 Tahoe 2 door 4x4. 230,000 miles.

#1
When turning left, the center weight of the vehicle turns over heavy on the right side. This results in the left rear tire "chirping" as the vehicle turns left. Heavy wear on the outside wall of the rear right tire as well and the front. This does not happen while turning right.

#2
A thud occurs when applying the breaks. Usually can feel this towards the rear of the vehicle as if the rear axel would be rolling forward.

#3
Since I have owned the vehicle (13 years), when accelerating from a dead stop, a thud is also noticed through the sterring column.

I have lost mechanical brain cells since being married and fathering two girls. Needless to say, I have low T and a mass amounts of estrogen. (joke). Thanks in advance!

#2 and #3 sound like worn U joints. I dont understand what you mean in #1.

The tire issue sounds like bad alignment or poor quality tires.

Mudbug713: Welcome to the forum.

#1. Check the sway bar links. May have had one rust thru and break.

#2 & #3. Check all suspension parts, ball joints, shocks, spring mountings, etc.

I've replaced the swaw bar links with MOOG links a few years ago. I have checked them recently and they seem to still be in good shape. The sway bar hasn't shifted or hasn't it broken away from the link or frame.

What I meant by the first statement is when I turn the vehicle left, the weight of the tahoe rolls to the right so severe that weight distribution goes towards the right front and the left rear tire will break free from the pavement.

I have recently checked the ball joints, have changed one idler arm, replaced upper and lower control arm bushings and changed shocks.

All I can say if left turns cause more roll than right turns do, you must have a suspension problem somewhere. Weak or broken spring maybe.

This is 4x4, K, 3/4ton and you get excessive right side body roll on left turns? At least One of the leafs in the spring suspension is broken. Probably the other side is worn out too thats why your tires are balding.
