I understand you can't give good info without seeing a vehicle.
but I wanted to get a 1997 2dr Tahoe for $1000. The issue is, it has 225k miles. At face value, is it a good buy?

It all depends on what you want. Maybe the owner needs the money fast or the vehicle has a problem.

Have you test driven it yet? Put it in FWD too. Check all the oils for water and level. Lots of people never
change the tranny and axle fluids.
