1997 Suburban axle end-play
While I have my 1997 1/2-ton 4x4 Suburban up on jackstands to perform some long deferred maintenance, I noticed something awry. The RH rear axle seems to have what I think is a lot of "slop" or end-play (in-and-out). When I compare the RH to LH end-play it's like night vs. day.
What is the range of end-play for this vintage truck?
Should it be out of spec, what is the solution to correct it?
I'm unable to accurately measure or mic the end-play at the moment. I believe the end-play slop is easily 1/8". I shot a brief youtube video of the movement. Perhaps taking a look will shed some insight on what I observed.
