Default 1997 tahoe help

Hello
I have a 1997 2 door tahoe. I just replaced the ECC in it because the Dealership said it could not read anything. My main reason for taking the truck to the shop was trying to get my A/C to work. I replaced the lines, the compressor is fairly new (year to year and a half) expansion valve is new and the switch coming off the compressor is new. My A/C blows air but not cold at all. I was told that the ECC would aid in getting my A/C blowing cold becasue it wasnt able to send the message to the A/C...It would blow cool after a long time of driving but by no means cole.

any ideas to get it blowing cold I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure what the ECC is doing for the A/C. Need to check pressures to make sure the charge is correct. When the system was worked on, was it evacuated for the proper amount of time to ensure moisture removal?

i dont think the system was evacuated. the last time it was worked on a mechanic friend changed out the lines and then installed the freon into it. it worked for a little while and now it doesnt blow cold air at all.

another question. with the changing of the ecc i still cant read any codes on the code reader when we hook it up. any suggestions?

thanks again

If the system wasn't evacuated, then you will need to get that done as moisture in the system could freeze up and stop the flow of freon to the evap.
