Just the dome light? None of the other lights are stuck ON?
If YES, check the dome light that is ON. I think there is an over-ride switch that's part of the dome light fixture.
The switch may be shorted or inadvertently switched ON.
EDIT....<oops> That switch is for the reading lamps, not the dome light. Sorry

OK, Next check the dash panel dimmer adjustment, if it's at the end of travel (full bright or full off, don't remember which) there's a courtesy light ON switch that may be your problem. That switch (when closed) over-rides all the door switches, including the DOME LAMP OFF switch.
FYI, The DOME LAMP OFF switch (when open) will eliminate the door switches as being the problem.

If you unplugged BOTH switches and the lights were still ON, I'd check the interior light control module. Unless you have the remote door lock key-fob, then you'll need to check the remote control door lock receiver.
If the lights are still ON after unplugging the module/receiver, then you have a short in the wiring somewhere.
With the unit unplugged, check the GRAY wire for continuity to ground. Opening the door should show continuity (w/ DOME LAMP OFF switch closed). Closing the door should show NO continuity. The GRAY wire tells the module/receiver to turn the lights ON/OFF.
If the continuity tests are OK, then the problem is probably in the module/receiver.

Check the switch itself. My 01 does that sometimes and I found the dimmer/dome light switch is junk. Mine is mostly off tho so I haven't replaced it yet. The only other thing I can think of is the actual door switch. You can always test a switch by isolating it and use an ohm meter while you turn the switch on and off and see if there is any fluctuations. A switch shouldn't have any resistance at all. Hope this helps.

Ha !!! That's how I disabled the sunroof which intermittently would not close or even make a sound trying on our 2005 Yukon, after GM dealer service told me "we have NO IDEA what is wrong". Of course I did have to fight them for a refund of my payment.....so sad....
