1998 K1500 AC question.
First post here. Came looking for answers.
I have been working on this issue for a few days now. Given its getting hot out, I decided to charge the AC (Previous owner put an rebuilt engine in it). I've put 60 oz of refrigerant in it. The pressure is good. When I jump the relay it activates fine and blows cold air. Checked the high and low switches, they have power. Still no AC.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem on my 1997 C1500 Suburban. Turns out the fuse was blown. I would make sure you check that and also check your relay. Try switching it out with a similiar one you already have, like the starter relay.
Thanks for the reply. I checked the fuse, both the blower inside and the 10 amp in the engine bay. I swapped the relays from the starter over to the AC and vice versa, and started no problem. I'll double check fuses. I did remove the fuse and jump the relay and it didn't engage. So I'm assuming the fuse is fine.
So, I dont know what changed, probably my fault, but the connection going into the bottom back of the compressor no longer has any charge. I'm looking at the wiring diagram right now to track those down. Any ideas on that aspect? Not one that engages on top that engages the clutch.
Tracked it down to being the high pressure control switch. The wires going to that have no current.
From what I read on the wiring schematic is that it's controlled by the VCM / PCM. Other side coming from the AC control head in the cabin (HVAC Control Module). I'm going to check the connection to the computer as I have already checked the control head by taking off the dash.
