Default 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT 4wd.

My 4wd fuse blows after about 20 mins of use. Just bought the truck 4wd didn't work. Found fuse #24 20 amp blown. I replaced it and 4wd worked for 20 mins. It has the floor shifter. Put new fuse in unplugged actuator shifted to 4wd fuse didn't blow. Think it's the actuator?

I would think it's bad if fuse didn't blow with it unplugged. If wiring harness was pinched somewhere the fuse would blow even with actuator unplugged.

Default Fuse #24 4wd fuse blows

I found out that my 4wd fuse blows without even trying to put it in 4wd. Have floor shifter for 4wd. I wonder could this be a ground problem? Maybe something uses that fuse as a ground. Body grounds are not good?

Bad ground it would not work. Hot wire is shorted some were blowing the fuse. Grounds are never fused.
