Default 1999 suburban

Hi im looking at buying a 99 3/4 suburban it is in excellent condition but needs trans work, it has the 7.4 big block and it has 83,000miles on it, the guy says it has no reverse so i was wondering if it would be worth it if i could get it for $4,000 because a tranny is $750 from the junkyard.

4000 for a sub with a bad tranny is a bit steep(to me)but then again is it 4wd?that would make it alot more reasonable, what about options on the inside(power everything)and getting a tranny(with a good tq) from the junk yard that's not beat already is hard to find,or it will last maybe a year.

you could get the tranny from them and get it all installed and it not work(been there)and thats a headache...i would offer them 3200 and see if they bite

Yeah its 4wd and it has power locks thats it bench seats but it is in real good condition like brand new they are asking $6,000obo which i think is steep so i was thinkin around 3500 or 4000, and i know what you mean about the tranny from the junkyard

6000 is a bit high even considering it's 4wd,but 3500 - 4000 might be good
if you can get a tranny in good working order or have a friend build you one(if you know someone it's alot cheaper and you can buy all the good upgrades for it)
