Had my transmission repaired a while back and ever since my dash displays the incorrect gear, in neutral the dash says reverse, in drive it says neutral and so on. How can I fix this so the dash displays the correct gear I'm in?

 

Asking: on a 1999 would this be a drive linkage problem with a mechanically-moving indicator, or is it electronic?

I'd take back to the shop, and be sure to tell them this has been ever since the repair; hopefully they've encountered this before....maybe it's something simple.

You already know that you should've gone back immediately....
