Default 1999 tahoe no brake lights

Was going to tow a trailer and when checking the lights the truck brake lights were not working. The hazards work but no brake lights. The brake lights on the trailer are not working. Checked the fuses were not blown and the bulbs are ok because the hazards work. What should I check next?

With good fuses and bulbs, the next thing to check is the brake light switch. This is mounted on the brake pedal.

Default Brake light fuses

I have no chmsl fuse so what fuse would the brake lights be tied to. Also, the trailer light don't work either everything else is good?

Check brake switch
Check fuse for brake lights
Check wiring at the trailer plug or where it's grafted into the brake wires

Ok so through reading other material I have found the Fuse for chmsl and it is not blown. The third brake light is working above the rear doors which comes off the brake light switch. There is another fuse on the schematic that shows another fuse and it says veh stop fuse 10 amp. And I believe I have found it and it is not blown either. I really don't know where to go from here but not being able to drive the Tahoe due to this is very frustrating. any ideas would be appreciated.

You are avoiding the obvious. Check the brake light switch. My son had a S10 pickup with no brake lights but the third brake light worked. After crawling under the dash, I found some broken wires to the switch that a previous owner worked on. After connecting them everything started to work again.

I am very good at schematics. The third brake light comes right from that switch and parallel to that is the ckt for rear brakes lights. Unless my Tahoe is wired unlike any other I believe I have ruled out the switch. When my wife gets home and can operate the brake pedal I will check further.

A stick pushing on the pedal wedged onto the seat is my no helper method.
