I have a 2000 model suburban. 5.7. I changed my distributor because the cap wouldn't tighten down and every since then it cranks but then shuts right back off. Just like when the anti theft has it locked out. I thought that's what it was and got another security module, re learned the key and it still does it. I've tried moving the dist up one tooth then back one tooth but it still won't keep running when it cranks. Getting really frustrated with it. I need the thing.

 

I just went out there n unplugged the cam position sensor and it does exactly the same thing. What's the possibility of a brand new dist having a bad cam position sensor in it? The terminal for that sensor doesn't fasten well n I bought another one but the color of the wires aren't the same so, I havent spliced the new terminal in yet.
