Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 2000 Suburb 1500 electrical

Volt meter dips at highway speeds (65 ish). Sometimes the check battery light comes on. In the morning the first ten minutes of driving the meter is reading above 14 so I assume there is a something drawing power at night? If I take my foot off the gas the meter will go back to 14 (after dipping).

Hit a pothole yesterday and the message light flashed (it was quick but I think it was orange or yellow?)

Last summer new Bosch alternator and battery. Last week I put on a new serpentine belt (trying to fix this problem) and checked tensioner (it was good).

I've heard of bad gears in the cluster but figure this would not make the battery light come on when the volt meter dips if it were just the gauge?

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Are the battery cables in good condition at both ends. The battery end as well as the other end. Sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere.
