Default 2000 suburban transmission noise need help.

What i have is issues.ok what it doing when you put in r or d or n it making like a light grind noise from torque convert area transmission.what could this be?bad torque coverter or pump or gear's/band's?i know the guy owned it before me.did tow some car's with it on car dolly.any help would be great.oh and also i can hear this a highway speed's some.

is it a grinding or a ticking type sound? you could have a cracked flex plate. I think on the trans you have a black rubber plug in the bell housing you can pull out to look in there, If you do look very close at the bolts holding the flex plate to the crank. You will see cracks there if that is the problem
