ok so is exactly everything that I did up until the transmission stopped working. so iam a new chevy owner and absolutly love it. I attempted a oil change in doing so i released the transmission fluid and adding oil to the engine. After this i noticed a weird clunk followed by redlining of rpms, car was pulsating followed by abnormal gear changes. after 20 or so miles i relized my mistake and drained out the remaning oil in tranny, added new oil and a lucas treatment to help with slippage and changed filter. after i was done i ended up breaking my cable shifter clips and made a hose clamp hold it in place i test drove all gears worked better than ever. i drove about 30 miles and found some loose gravel and stuffed it to about 3000 rpms for 3 seconds had some wheel hopping then popped out of gear now none of the gears work or my 4x4. i became stranded. any idea on what happened please and thanks in advance!!!!!

2000 chevy tahoe new body z71 4x4 171xxx. tranny replaced 150xxx .so they said

 

Check your linkage again to make sure it's adjusted right. If that's ok sounds like your transmission is toast and needs a rebuild.

 

So an update on the situation I decided to give it another go I put it in every gear and with a little more gas I was able to move the car but it didn't shift and it smelled
