2001 Suburban AC control - back OK, front crazy
Hello, I searched for past posts, but nothing quite like my problem.
my 2001 Suburban LS has Front and back dual zone, but no passenger/driver side seperate temp controls.
The back zone is working fine, in auto or manual modes. Nice and cold back there. The kids aren't complaining at all.
The front zone has a mind of it's own. It will work normally one day in either auto or manual setting, then intermittently the next day, and not at all the next day -- no fan, nothing. It has even run when turned "OFF", like it's haunted. So the fan does work. When it is in that intermittent mode, I cannot seem to affect the fan speed with auto temp setting (center dial), or with manual fan speed setting (left-most dial).
I really hope this is a loose wire or an inexpensive relay.
And here's my helpful hint to any Suburban owners with a wet rear floor during AC use: find the little rubber hose behind the right-rear wheel, pinch it, massage it. This will release the crud that builds up and will let the rear condensation drain normally. Don't take it to a dishonest shop that could take advantage of you!
