2001 Suburban RADIATOR VENT INLET

I have new radiator and components from a salvage yard. It' came from a Silverado 1500.

I noticed that the radiator does not have an inlet for the Radiator Vent.

How important is this?

Can I splice this hose with the one that comes from the coolant recovery tank?

In this diagram it is hose 4.
