Unhappy 2001 Suburban Security Light Issue

I've been reading endless articles about passlock and ignition issues on this vehicle but what I have happening I cannot find a solution to anywhere.

First off, the vehicle runs and starts just fine however when turning off the vehicle, the Security light keeps flashing (and beeping) even with key in the off position and removing the key. The dash lights remain on as well as the parking and tail lights.

I cannot get it to go off, tried relearning the system and tried the trick with the drivers door lock.

Not that it should matter but the fob hasn't worked in years. I've always armed the system with the lock button by the rear cargo door and unlocked at the rear door or drivers door with no issues.

What in the heck could be the problem? I suppose it could be endless things if the vehicle DIDN'T START but it DOES START and runs just fine.

Seriously confused in Arizona.

Did this ever get figured out? I have the exact same problem and it's driving me nuts.

6 yr old post so don't expect a answer.
Full code scan is needed, not just a P code scan as that system may not report those codes.
