2001 tahoe Air pump

My air pump for the air induction system runs all the time even when key is off.

I wasn't aware that they still used an AIR system.

Are we talking the AIR pump for emissions control, if so isn't mechanically belt driven? The last time I dealt with one it was on an 87 Camaro with a 305....
