2001 Tahoe hot start hard crank
I have a 2001 Tahoe with a hot start problem. Looked at a bunch of different forums and nothing is adding up. Seems like different people have had different fixes.
Problem: when engine is hot and I leave the vehicle off for 10+ minutes and go to crank it takes 5-10 seconds to crank. In the morning or when engine has had a couple hours to cool it cranks perfect.
what I’ve done: replaced fuel pump 3 times.
cleaned injectors
bg and sea foam in gas
intake manifold gasket
fuel sending unit
fuel filter (2)
fuel pressure regulator
fuel injector number 8 had a stumble so replaced it
spark plugs and wires(2))
egr valve(2)
evap canister (code p0446) havent had a chance to clear this code yet and see if that cleared it but I will tomorrow but this doesn’t fix the problem
the only thing that has worked for 1 day was the mechanic replaced crank shaft position sensor it had oil in it but it’s been doing the same thing after the one day of it working right.
I’m tired of throwing parts at this thing and I’m far from a mechanic.
the mechanic tested Fuel pressure and says everything is fine.
dont Really want to pull the crankshaft position sensor out again until I know what’s going on
