My 2001 Tahoe is having the exact same problem. The compressor was making a lot of noise and I had it replaced by the local dealership. Now the AC intermittently does not work. Did you ever find a solution to the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

Welcome to the forum.

Did you have the intermittent problem before the compressor replacement?

No the AC cooled fine before the compressor was replaced.

Then I'd take it back to the dealership and tell them to fix it.

Your repairs at the dealership should be covered by a 12/12 warranty from the date of that repair(for that repair), if you are within that period you should not have to pay anything out of pocket...

Thanks that's a big relief. I brought it back to the dealer once already, but the problem is intermittent and the AC worked when they were checking it out.

I would check the Idler pully for the compressor and make sure it not loose or worn. My was jumping because it was loose cause intermittent coolong.

I'm wondering if the failing compressor let go of some pieces and they carried thru the system and clogged the rear system.
Check the rear blend door actuator
