my 2001 tahoe was run out of gas and it wouldn't start when gas was put back in it. Towed it home and replaced the pump, filter, and relay. Still nothing. Engine cranks over all day long until the battery needs recharging. Decided to connect the old pump to the battery and it ran. I'm at a lost and really don't want to tow it somewhere and spend hundreds more for someone else to fix it.

Any suggestions.
