2002 Starting/security issue
Hi all! Have a 2002 Burb withh 155k miles.
Just had the alternator replaced (took 4 different ones until they found one that didn't make noise) and all seemed to be fine. Took a road trip over the weekend and out of the blue it wouldn't start. No crank, nothing. We thought perhaps the alternator was draining the battery, but jump did nothing to help. My husband decided to hit the unlock button on the fob just for kicks and it started right up. It still continues to do this off and on and is getting annoying.
The battery in the fob is getting low, can take 3-4 presses to get it to work. Could this be messing with the security?? The security light doesn't flash when we try to start it, the battery light does. All the gauges come on and what not, just no crank until we unlock it with the fob.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Odd. You might try to reset the electrical system (cant hurt).
Disconnect the negative battery cable. (leave positive attached)
Wait about 5 minutes or so and reconnect the neg cable.
Turn the ignition to "on" but dont start the car.
You may see some lights blinking etc while it recycles.
Wait a couple minutes then its done and ready to start.
Not sure if this will help but you might give it a shot.
