Default 2003 Gauges

Hello, new member. Tried searching for the answer but kept finding problems with the stepper motors. I took care of that problem last spring and it has been working great until this week. Now none of the gauges work at all. Lights come on and odometer works but all the gauges stick at 0. Any help with what to look for? Tahoe has over 120k so I know the dealer will only help me with pulling my wallet out of my pants.
Thanks

When you say you took care of the problem did you replace it with another unit from a junkyard? Or how did you take care of it? It sounds like your right back to the same problem so it was not fixed properly

Welcome to the Forum!

My guess is a wiring issue, or a bad/inoperative gauge cluster. I am leaning towards the latter. Have you checked the fuses? I don't know if the gauges are on a different fuse, but I would start there first. Good Luck!!

When I took care of the problem I changed out all the stepper motors with the upgrade motors from a company on ebay. The problem I was experiencing before was nothing like this. Some would work and some would not or show it was running at 300 degrees when I knew it wasn't.
I guess I'll pull it out again and play with wires hoping to find one that a jiggle makes the gauges suddenly work correctly. Thanks

Well, worst fears confirmed. Moving the steering wheel up and down a few times the other day and the gauges now work again. Besides NEVER tilting the wheel again is there a harness I can replace in the column that is readily available or do I have to tear it down and start looking for a crimped/shorted wire?
