I have a 2005 suburban with cj2 frt auto temp cont aux temp cont c36 heater aux and c69 rr air cond. the rear blower quit working. i was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram so i could chase it down. or any thoughts.

I don't have schematic, but I would check the ground connection. JMHO, good luck.

 

I have checked the grounds and they seem to be good. I have also checked the wires to the blower motor resistor and I have power and ground coming in but the purple wire going into the resistor doesn't seem to have any power coming in. I believe this is the line that gives the resistor the signal but not sure.

 

The purple wire should come from the HIGH BLOWER RELAY, which is behind glove box on top of heater case above blower motor, good luck.

 

You have the auto temperature control system in your Suburban, right?
There are different blower control modules depending on what type of temperature controller you have. To help determine what system you have. How many wires are going to the "resistor"? It may be a solid state controller. What color are the wires? Did you check the "RR HVAC" fuse?

 

Fuses have been checked and are ok. The wires going into the resistor are blk, org and purple. Like i said before there is power going to the org wire, the blk has ground but there is no power to the purple wire.

 

Yup, you have a solid state blower controller. The purple wire is the control signal, I don't know what kind of signal you should see. Some ideas I'd try.... Hot wire the blower motor to make sure the blower runs (with the controller unplugged). Measure the control signal on the front blower to see if you're getting a similar signal at the rear unit. Check to see if the front blower has the same blower control unit. Swap the units to determine if it's bad. It could be a loose connector at the HVAC control module or a bad HVAC module. Try a reset, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Good Luck, let us know what you find.
