2005 suburban 1500 - abs light; A/T issues
My 2005 suburban was running fine yesterday. 61000 miles. Started it up this morning. ABS light and brake warning light illuminate with warning bells. In drive, it won't get out of 1st gear. No shifting period. I've seen these symptoms on other forums, but no resolutions to the issue(s). It's certainly electrical, not mechanical. Any suggestions? Thanks.

a abs light and brake light can mean trans problems. The code needs to be scaned to see what is wrong. when you get the code you should be able to pin point whats wrong.

I would check the condition of the battery and also the grounding of the battery to the chassis, the ground cable needs to be very low resistance.. poor electrical connections can cause strange things

Well, here's one for the books. Apparently, the wiring harness to my speed sensor in my transmission had developed a short. I took it to the dealer, they found and fixed. $300. Runs like a charm. I was thinking ABS module at about $1300. NOPE!
