Default 2005 Suburban K2500 4x4 - new brakes help

I have a 2005 Suburban K2500 4x4 w/ 97K miles now. I often tow and launch a 10K boat and trailer into the salt water, and my rear discs tend to get rusty. I need to redo the rear brakes and rotors and want to go with heavy duty Delco or better parts, preferably something less prone to rusting.

Do you have any experience with this issue, and any recommendations for me?

Thanks in advance!

I don't work or have any interests in these guys, but maybe it's a starting place for you...

Cast iron rotors will rust. You'll probably wear out the rotors before the rust does any damage unless you have them turned.

Even if the braking surface gets a little rusty, the first few stops scrub it off.

There is another option, rather than replaceing your Rotors with some expensive ones...

IF you can get them clean*, or purchase new regular replacement Rotors, you could thoroughly spray (paint) them with that Alumimum colored Exhaust Manifold Paint. I think that would give them some protection, and not be too expensive to do.
(just wipe off the overspray from the Pad contact area)

* = Wire Brush/Sand Blast/whatever

The quicker you can rinse the salt water off the better.
Maybe even carry a bucket of fresh water along and toss half on each side after launching.
Anything should help.
Good luck,
Lee

Ok, clear water, that's good idea too, and...

You could get a small Pump Sprayer with clear water in it, and just give them a nice wash after a salt water dunk.
