Default gas tank issue

When I fill the tank full and drive raw gas comes out the bottom of the cap and runs down the fender. Is this just a new cap or is it a vent issue?

I'm not sure just what you mean by "full", you mean you fill it all the way up in the Filler Tube ?

Now a days, the tanks are made to work with a little "head room", where there is air inside the tank. You might try not filling it up so "full".

Beyond that, you may have a bad gasket on your Gas Cap, or, some obstruction not allowing it to be tightened down to make a proper seal.

Yeah it sloshes out the bottom of the cap until it is about 1/8 empty. I can also smell gas at the back door area. Cap appears to be worn a bit I will replace it and see if it fixes the issue.

This problem is typically caused by a leakage somewhere in the system, starting from the gas tank all the way to the cylinder itself. Since it's from the bottom of the gap, it is good to change the gap.
