2005 Suburban: Roaring noise when I apply gas
I was hoping someone could help me diagnose this problem. I have a 2005 Suburban 1500 LT 4wd with 136K miles. When I apply the throttle, I hear a roaring sound from under the truck. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's coming from underneath the left front side of the truck. If I release the throttle and coast, it seems to go away.
This is the previous work completed by the Chevrolet dealer that seemed relevant. Some of this work was completed under warranty and some was not. I also noticed a leak which appears to be coming from the front differential, but I am not sure where it's coming from. I can see a yellowish oil dripping from the front pinion/ring gear housing.
Date: Miles: Service:
01-09-08 / 35,785: Replaced R/F axle seal
03-03-08 / 35,968: Replaced rear axle carrier bearings/pinion crush sleeve.
11-05-08 / 46,875: Replaced R/F axle seal
01-14-09 / 50,115: Replaced R/F axle seal
06-23-09 / 56,396: Replaced front & rear differential and transfer case fluid
06-25-09 / 56,407: Replaced all rear diff bearings and seals
11-30-10 / 78,349: Replaced transmission assembly
Does anyone have any ideas that might help?
Thanks,
Wade

Welcome to the Forum Wade.
I'd start with checking the Air Intake Tubing. Everything ahead of the Engine to the front Air Ram area. Mechanic may have not connected something and an open tube can really make a roar.

Thanks for the tips. I don't think it's had any accidents, but I just bought it recently. It had a clean CarFax and I couldn't find any overspray or signs of any accidents. Most of the work was completed under warranty. The new transmission doesn't bother me too much, but all the differential/bearing and seals has me thinking its a lemon. I may have made a bug mistake buying this truck, but it's too late now and I need to figure it out. I commute to work with my wife, so I only need the truck some weekends and evenings to run errands. I do however, need to get it fixed so I can trust it. I'm also sort of particular about maintaining my things, so I need to get it right or it will bug me too much.
