I been having some starting issues and misfire codes randomly I was thinking that maybe it was a pressure reg going bad someone told me that they are a common problem. My problem I can't find it its a 2005 tahoe with 5.3 and it's not on the fuel rail any ideas

you have a returnless fuel system. the regulator is part of the fuel pump/sender assembly in the tank.


rarely do they go bad. Does that someone know what they are talking about?

 

well i guess he doesn't know well any way no it seems to smell like its loading up when it first starts and then it feels like its low on power and shakes like a miss when accelerating or maintaining speed go's away when you let off gas and coast. afer I cleared the code abou a week ago which was po300 if I remember right, the check engine light hasn't come back on. not sure where to start on this help please

 

does your scan tool show fuel trim data?
