hello

i need help, im outside of the US and i have a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe ls 4x4 with some problems.

Today in the morning when i started the car my Oil gauge pressure is in 0 and my check engine light came on. The car have good oil level and is running as good as always. Can i drive the car for at least 2 weeks?

Initial thought would be a faulty oil pressure sensor. IF the sensor was bad (sending a zero indication), then it would probably cause a fault code. First, use an OBD II scanner to pull the code(s).

Other possibilities would be plugged oil galley or line, and/or a faulty oil pump...assuming the engine is still running well. I'm sure the engine would run alright for a few minutes if there was no oil circulation.

Pull the codes, check the oil pressure sensor for continuity...or just change it out. Here in the states, at my local auto parts store, the "Oil Pressure Switch" goes for about US$40. Check out the link from my local Auto Zone to see the price and what it looks like.

I suspect that it could just be a bad sending unit.. if there is no oil pressure you would hear it via a very clattery sounding engine....
I couldn't/wouldn't say if it would be okay to drive for a few weeks while you are out of county, that is a call you will have to make... but the things to listen for are a noisy engine, engine temp... I'd avoid driving it any harder then need be and would keep the radio turned off so you can hear any changes in engine sounds...you have to do what you feel is best for the situation...

Try replacing the oil manifold filter located under the oil sensor. $6 part get's clogged lowering pressure; tricky to get at. Good luck.
