Default air bag service message

I hit a few puddles today. Actually I hit a bunch. I was trying to hit large puddles to clean the under carriage from all the salt and debris.

The Service Air Bag message came on. The air bag light too. I'm assuming it just got wet and will dry out. It has been a day since this happened and the light is still on. When should I worry about this?

Could have splashed some salt water in to a connector. Better idea to clean undercarriage, go to a car wash w/ bottom blast.

Default lights

sometimes pulling the battery for 20 min can clear codes.

But I wouldn't mess around w/that particular light...

Or the airbag really needs servicing.

I'd suggest getting under the vehicle and inspecting connections, the water could have hit a connector with enough force to pull or tug on it and it's now not fully seated...
The air bag system is usually identified with yellow connectors...

the only external wiring is for the front crash sensors located above the plastic skid plate/splash shield. faulty impact sensors are common faults. easy to diagnose...read the codes. if ones bad, swap the bad one for the good one and see if the code follows the sensor.

the system does a diagnostic check at start up. if the fault was gone, the light would go out then.

What does the sensor look like. I'm going to try to check it out tomorrow.

I did clean the undercarriage. I also disconnected the battery for a bit, still getting the message. I'm pretty sure its just water damage. The message popped up after hitting major puddles.

If I check codes it should say which sensor is bad?

Thanks for all the reply's.

I found out what the sensor looks like. Seems like an easy replacement.
