2007 chevy suburban afm delete
I got one a year ago through Amazon (a less-expensive clone) for our 2014 Yukon with 6.2 liter engine now at 120K miles.
1. Does this keep it in V8 mode full time? Yes
2. Does this prevent future AFM issues? I don't know.

It seems to me the module doesn't fix the issue. When mine went bad one of the lifters started to turn sideways and wipe the cam. I think the safe play is to remove the VLOM and all those solenoids, put a new cam and lifters in it, and then use the module. Mine has 30k on it since I eliminated the AFM with no issues. Instead of using a delete module I sent my ECM to a programmer on ebay, who did a great job.
Its been long enough that I dont remember who I got to do it, but if you find a service on ebay their feedback will tell you if they do good work. I think it was around $50. I got my valley pan from RockAuto and my cam/lifters from a Chevy dealership on ebay that was selling excess stock.
