2007 Suburban Leveling kit, Tire and Wheels
Hi all, I have search for threads related to my question with out much success...
Here are my specs:
2007 Suburban LTZ 5.3L V8 Flex. Stiblitrack in front, auto leveling in rear
17x8.5 +25 MB TKO wheels (Discount Tire Direct) (BTW, it came stock with 20x8.5 +31; Side note, I still have them and would be willing to part with them).
265/70/17 Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 tires (came stock with 275/55/20 all-terrain).
So if I'm correct, I have 6mm or 0.23 inches more of inner clearance and the wheel now sticks out 6mm or 0.23in more then stock.
Questions:
If I went with a 2.25 inch leveling kit, would I have issues with the TKO wheels with the +25 offset with a 265/70/17 tire? 285/70/17? 305/65/17?
If I understand correctly, a leveling kit will push the arms out, but by how much?
If I were to forgo the Leveling Kit, and kept the factory rake and the TKO wheels, what size tire can I fit with out rubbing?
Some numbers/specs for you to consider:
A 285/70/17 (32.7x11.2x17) is 1.1 inch greater in dia. and 0.8 inches in width then the 265/70/17.
A 305/65/17 (32.6x12x17) is 1 inch greater in dia. and 1.6 inches in width then the 265/70/17.
Assuming the difference is split evenly from the center of the wheel, I'm looking at a +0.4 inch difference in width for the 285's and a +0.8 inch difference for the 305's.
I would like to get some thoughts on if I can fit the 285's or 305's on my 17x8.5's with out any issues.
Also, is seems most tire manufactures require a wider wheel for a 305/65/17. Will it mount on a 17x8.5 wide wheel with out any issues?
Would love to here your thoughts, as I need to make something happen with in the next two weeks.
