2007 suburban questions
Hi I am new to this site. I have been searching around for a few weeks, and have found this site to be a wealth of knowledge. I recently purchased a new to me 2007 suburban ltz. It is in pretty good shape there are just a few issues that I am trying to take care of.
First the engine light is on code is for the tps which I am told means that the throttle body may need to be replaced is there any tips for trying to correct this code without the 250$ throttle body or should I just get one?
Second the right front power outlet and the 2nd row middle outlet are not working I can't find any blown fuses what else should I look for. the washer fluid heater also isn't working. Is there another fuse panel somewhere I haven't found?
It seems I am lucky as many of the other common problems I have read about on this forum are not an issue with my sub. I am extremely happy with my purchase I look forward to many years of service with it
Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
Dan

It is better to change your throttle body. Regarding the power outlet, make sure that you have checked ltr fuse 53 in the engine compartment(20 amp fuse) and auxillary power fuses 1 and 2 in the ip fuse box( both 20 amp fuses). All these outlets run on the same ground. Also make sure you have tested light checked for power and ground inside the outlets. If all the fuses are good, it is going to come down to either a broken power feed to the ones that do not work or a bad ground connection. About all you can do is start tracing the wires from the outlet that doesn't work back to the fuse. Some of them have a common connector that hooks two or more together, and some of them work on a separate circuit and have separate fuses.

Congratulations on your new Suburban! I would be happy to check my resources for any known issues if you PM me your VIN. Also, “blueinterceptor” is correct regarding the recall. I can also check if your vehicle was affected by that when I receive your VIN.
I look forward to your reply.

The first recall on the heated washer just replaced the wiring harness w/ a heavier one.
The heated washer fluid debacle was a good example of what happens when GM beats down a supplier on costs. OK when they do it but boy when Walmart does it, that's just a big corp. bullying the little guy.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was able to get the outlets working however I need to find a replacement for the one in the rear of the console. Anyone know where to find those outlets I looked on gm parts direct can't find them.
I bought a obd2 scan tool yesterday reset the codes none have returned yet.
Does anyone know how the DVD system is supposed to work. I think I am having a problem with mine. When I put in a DVD the rear monitor has to be down or it will not come on. You have to eject the DVD and put it back in to get the monitor to come on. Can this be solved with a remote to turn on the monitor? I have ordered one from gmpartsdirect.

Thank you for providing your VIN. After researching your vehicle, there are currently no known issues based on your description. There are also currently no open recalls on your vehicle. It appears as though the heated windshield washer module has already been removed.
In regards to the rear outlet, I recommend contacting your local dealer, they will be able to assist you further with ordering the part.
As for the DVD player, if a DVD is playing and the screen is raised to its locked position, the screen will remain on, this is normal, and the DVD will continue to play through the previous audio source.
If there is no picture or sound, they player may be in the wrong auxiliary source mode. Make sure the player is in DVD mode. These options can be selected with the remote.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me privately.

That is it in2pro thank you ordered 2 so I have a spare
Bad news someone smashed my driver side mirror while I was at the farm store yesterday. Insurance will cover it but can't believe that mirror is 600.00. Wow
I have to try to explain the DVD thing better. I'm not sure if it is working properly or not here is the scenario
We get into the car to go for a drive the kids put in a DVD to watch everything works fine the rear monitor works the sound is fine. When we stop somewhere if I shut off the car the rear monitor will not come back on until I eject the DVD and put it back in. That is a problem to me because then you have to start the movie over again or fast forward it to where they left off. I don't think that it is supposed to work like that but don't know for sure. I know that I will not be going to the dealer for an issue with the DVD player so if I can't figure out why it does that. it will have to be dealt with. Just wanted to ask to see if anyone else has had or heard of an issue like that.

I installed the MicroHeat Hotshot in my '04 Tahoe. This is the second unit I have installed, the 1st in my '99 Sub. The 2nd(newer one) is the automatic unit, both work flawlessly. The 1st one has been for years now without a problem. I love not having to scrape windshields !!! The heated fluid is GREAT for removing bug juice in the summer too. I will surely put this product into every vehicle I get. PS - I don't have any interest in MicroHeat.
