2007 Tahoe with 22" and a rub
I have a 2007 tahoe with a belltech 2/3 drop (spindles front, springs rear).
I installed Boss 22" type 313. First when on 305/45/22. they rubbed bad. I ended up suing 305/40/22 which work, but need some trimming on the plastic in the fender wells.
I would like to know if anyone has a dropped tahoe that runs 285/45/22? I would like to try this combination to get a bigger sidewall.
Thanks

RE: 2007 Tahoe with 22" and a rub
I would be cautious with this size on a dropped Tahoe. I installed the Rancho Quick lift which raised the front end of the Tahoe 1 3/4" - 2" and installed 285/50R22 Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock offset (31mm) 22" rims and I still get rubbing in 2 spots. On the front middle of the frontwelland in the rear side of the front well right where the inner fender and the body pieces overlap & are plastic riveted together. My plan is to use a heat gun and try to stretch these spots just a bit to keep any further rubbing at a minimum. In the rear I had to trim about an inch off of the inner fender plastic where the bump is for the shock. I bassically trimmed it up to just cover the bottom of the bolt that stick in toward the tire from the top shock mount. The front of the tire will occasionally just brush the bulge in the front of the rear fender when I'm towing our boat but I'm not too worried about this since it is a light rub and the tire is moving forward and not going to grab an edge.
I went to www.rims-n-tires.com to get the sizing chart below to compare the size I'm running and the size you mentioned. There is only about an inch difference in height & same width. My Grapplers have a slight protrusion of the tread on the sidewall (3/16") where steret tires may have a rounder shoulder which would help. But, keep in mind that this is on a stock rear ride height and lifted front end. I would be worried about a 2/3 drop and rubbing. If I didn't use my Tahoe to go skiing, boating & duning I would love to drop it down a few inches. They really look awesome like that.

Here's one with the trailer hooked up... Need load levelers!
Good luck on your rim/tire selection.
