Default 2007 Tahoe 4.8L bottom end knock at operating temp

Hey guys! New to the forum but had a question that I havent seen asked in any forums.

So my 07 Tahoe has a bottom end knocking problem but it only happens after it hits op temp. Once it starts knocking it only lasts about 5-6 mins then completely goes away. I can definitely tell its louder when you are under the engine. No CEL. I heard something about a clogged screen in the oil pick up line or could be a wrist pin problem but im stumped. I just want to see if any of you guys have had this problem before and have any insight before i start tearing in to the engine.

Any help is apperciated!

Thanks in advance!

Does it use motor oil at all? How is the oil pressure?

No oil consumption at all and pressure stays around 40 at idle and goes to about 55 or so when accelerating.

That is good and quite normal that your oil pressure is within a good range. And you are pretty sure it's a lower motor part that is causing this? Intermittent issues like this one are difficult to diagnose. Are you the first owner of your Tahoe?

Im pretty sure its coming from the bottom end. You can hear it from the top of the engine bay but its more distinct when I go under the oil pan. No I am the second owner. I purchased it at about 85k miles

Pretty sure its rod knock, but that's usually pretty constant. not intermittent. No telling what and how he/she treated the motor like, but likely not as well as he/she could have. Or it could have been a defect when the motor was built as well.
