it looks like some of the studies cite cellulose, and some specify 'corn'. Other countries use wheatgrass I believe to create fuel from, which is more effecient than corn... but that would take away land from growing corn, which would result in higher food prices as well.

Your right about the $2.50 cry... it was the end of the world when we broke $2.00, but no one seems to be bitching at $3.00/gallon...

Well, cars can one day run on water, right? Hydrogen? I think they just pick on 100 since its a nice round number, but I would take only 50 MPG on water if you can do it
