Oh that! I had that for the first 3,000 miles. It eventually went away. I think it was the top dash piece closer to the windsheild.

I also have a rattle somewhere near the windshield on the passenger side dash. I have some wires ran back there so I just figured it was them hitting the windshield. I think it only does it when its cold...or maybe thats the only time I notice it.

Default Mine, too!

My 2007 has a tapping/ rattle on the passenger side that does it more when cold. It sonds like a cold, hard piece of plastic rolling around on the cowl. It transmits through the dash and nothing to do with speed, wind, turns, etc. It does sound off with a tick when you start out. It may do it more going right and uphill.

I have eliminated about 13 other potential creaks, etc in the process. The truck is just getting quieter, so the tapping is louder.

It is not windshield trim, top of dash, trim, glove box latch, front pillar speakers, passenger side door or burlwood trim.

It sounds like it is where the A pillar, windshield, and dash meet.

Ideas?

Might pop the A-pillar trim off to see if that affects it.

I have driven around with the A- pillar trim, top cover, front trim, vents, side panels off the dash.

Still does it. It sounds like a wooden bead on a string swinging into the plastic on the dash or metal swinging into the firewall or cowl somewhere near the antenna.

Next, I plan to pull the black cowl piece off and look around there. Then, I plan to uninstall the HVAC stuff and look behind there.
