3 cranks to start Tahoe ?
I am trying to help a friend, she has been having trouble starting her 2000 Tahoe 5.3L , she took it to a mechanic and he told her fuel preasure regulator was bad and causing fuel to back down into tank after sitting a while, quoted her 500.00 to change I told her hold off I will look into prices, well 50 dollar part and 450 in labour is insane, changed out the fuel preasure regulator last night in oh 15min. But it is still taking 3 cranks to start, looked under truck fuel filter looks new, truck runs well once started but I dont want her to have to replace fuel pump prematurely. I was thinking of doing a seafoam treatment on it. Any ideas. Thanks for any help. Mike
Thanks guys, I figured fuel pump, told her when she has the cash I will replace it for her. Did it on my Tahoe in a gas station parking lot in a couple hours should be a little easier in my driveway, but man GM crammed that tank between the frame, not looking forward to it.
