Default 2007 tahoe dvd problem

I have a 2007 tahoe ltz. It came with the 6disc radio cd. I brought a cd/dvd head unit and the rear entertianment console to install. the parts man at my dealership says i have to replace the whole wiring harness in the dash and also buy one for the roof. Does anyone have any knowledge on the subject??
I thought gm would use the same harness for most of the top line model tahoe if you wanted to upgrade..
I need some help!!!!

GM uses a body wire harness based solely on the options and equipment that the unit is to have installed.
You don't have to replace the dash wiring, the bad part is that you will have to build and splice your own harness in for the rear DVD screen, this is the reason that GM does not offer the OEM flip-down screen as a dealer installed item through GM Accessories.

I personally think that the better (and easier) way to go is to install the GM headrest DVD system.
