2007 Tahoe Engine
I just found this forum and havent searched alot around here. Last year my 2007 tahoe started with a bit of rod knocking and took it to the dealership and was told about a problem with chevy making 07 engines with a problem with alot of oil consumption. Two weeks ago my rod knocking got worse and i believe one piston is out. Ive called serval junkyards and havent found a replacement engine I would like to know if anybody on here knows any good with high reputation places online where I could possibly order and engine. thanks Im located in Washington state.
Welcome to the forum....
Do some searching for AFM (Active Fuel management)
Its possible you may only need to have the upper engine rebuilt ( lifters and cam)
have you pulled the plugs and inspected for oil? have you done a compression check?

Yeah man the bottom end of those engines is pretty tough. Are you POSITIVE that it is a rod knock? I would verify that by removing the valve covers and starting the engine. If it's stopped in the right spot, you may not even have to start it. If you have a loose rocker arm and it is a valvetrain rattle instead of a knock, you may be fortunate to just have an AFM issue. Keep us posted!
