I would like to have factory nav installed in my Tahoe and the dealer has quoted me $2,400. Is this a good deal?

I installed mine for under $1000 - did it myself... Radio from eBay for $850, antenna from eBay for $50, and the VSS connector from JPCustoms for $25. Total labor was about 2 hours (1 hour was spent carefully removing the trim)

With the info in this forum you can do it yourself for less than $1000. There are plenty of members here who have done it and I sure will guide you through it.

This wouldn't void my warranty by doing it myself? Also, If I do it myself, do I run a risk of interfering with my rear DVD player?

It is all a question of waiting for a unit to come up cheap on ebay. They are getting cheaper all the time - I've seen them go for as little as $600 - When I did mine back last fall it cost around $1600 (ebay) - but then again mine was new in the never opened box (entire kit NAV/Manual/GPS ant & Map disc). If you get a new one this way you can avoid the dealer programming session. A "virgin" unit will map to the VIN of the first vehicle it gets installed in.
