FYI,

Vehicle Info:
VIN: 3GNVKFE0XAG274080
2010 Avalanche
Crack on drivers side only (although pass. side typically will follow).
Interior color is tan

Talked via PM w/Erica.
71-1251790504 (received 12/2)

Waiting since 12/2 for a district specialist to contact me.

Just posting the info. I'm a design engineer myself and an issue like this should have been caught during proto builds...

Another useful piece of information would be location in the country where the vehicle is located. I will submit as a data point that there been no known cracked dashes in the Kansas City area that I'm aware of.

Location is Central IL, crack occurred just after getting colder temps. Vehicle is garaged occasionally but is not typically (summer cars get the garage lol).

Erica, can I make a suggestion here ? If I were you, I would just quit posting in here. You are merely running people around. We dont need a "District Specialist" to call us and tell us our truck is outside the warranty and therefore not covered. We know that. We are still upset that this widespread issue isnt being resolved by GM. Until you are ready to step up and resolve the problem like a grown up, please quit running people around on here. If your strategy really is to sit back and hope the internet gets unplugged, then do that. Quit making useless posts here, its making GM look even worse...

Actually we do need Erica, and her team here, and we welcome them... the Chevrolet Customer Service Team has be able to help many a forum member resolve concerns...
This is an outreach by GM to listen to its customers and help where and when they can to keep customers happy. No they can't help every one every time. GM is listening and taking notes...

Yes its nice that customer service reads the complaints but how many here with cracks in the dash had the problem fixed without a lot of money out their own pockets. They just placate people to try and stop bad publicity for Chevy and GM. This problem should be fixed for no cost to owners no matter the year or miles. Its a defect and in an accident could cause sharp pieces of the dash injure the driver and passengers.

what kills me is that this case by case is so arbitrary. erica and louis, you are telling us that if we get someone who is having a bad day, then we are screwed????? In my case the service manager came out and said "you caused this by putting armor all on your dash," even though i did not put armor all on my dash. I did email the quotes from that guy at palm chevrolet gainesville fl to armor all telling them that your product is officially being blamed for a cracked dash, i still have the letter armor all sent back to me dated 12/21/09. Now if i had brought that guy some coffee and donuts i would be sitting here with a new dash. You guys need to be consistent!
