2007 tahoe ltz dash has cracked????????
When replaying to a thread where you want to attach a picture or file, scroll down a bit and you will see the " Additional Options" you want to click on the "manage attachments" This will allow you to attach various files and pictures, it will limit you to about 4-5 images per post but you can just replay to your own post to attach more...
UPDATE: I purchased the new dash and installed it myself. The interesting part is that they have in fact significantly altered the design, which I assume will prevent the crack from occurring again. So I spent 6 hours of my time. I have all of it photographed and I am trying to figure out how to post the pictures. I also called back to Chevrolet to discuss this issue, ultimately they said they would do nothing about the issue because they had offered me the 205 off if they did the whole job.... I was not willing to get 20% off of $1400.00. The part can be purchased online for about $320. But beware, it is a great deal of work to swap it out and involves removal of a tremendous amount of accessories and wiring. I am going to continue to press the issue with GM, documents will go out Monday. If someone can tell me how to post the pictures I would be happy to, I think you will immediately see what the new design was done to correct.
Sorry for the delay, I figured out how to add the additional pictures to the website: http://www.tahoe-cracked-dash.webs.com/
GM's final answer..... too bad customer. Pretty sad, hopefully others will be able to use this to help them with the issue. For anyone who wants to try and do the repair themselves I can walk you through the steps, but be prepared for a lot of work.

2007 Yukon here with not even 40k miles on it... Noticed my first crack around my airbag compartment more than a year ago. Figured oh well, out of warranty cant do anything about it. About a week ago I noticed a second HUGE crack on the dash forming above my speedometer, now I am really pissed. The real kicker is when I see how massive of an issue this is and how little GM is doing about it. Are they still giving people a hard time fixing this along with the door handles?\\
Edit: I should also add that I have had my ENTIRE windshield (not just a strip) tinted for the majority of this vehicles life with 15% tint. For them to claim its from extreme UV damage or heat is absolutely false. If this is from UV rays then it had to occur within a 8 month period of when I took the tint off the windshield, so for it to develop in that short of a time period is flat out absurd.

I finally reached an acceptable settlement and had mine replaced, but only after several months of back-and-forth and having my complaint reach the highest levels.
I've got a 34-year-old Cadillac which sat outside in the desert sun for eight years before I bought it. Number of cracks in the dashboard: zero. The MSRP on my Suburban was more than double that of the limo's. And people say quality control sucked in the 70's...
