Default 2007 Tahoe LTZ serpentine belt change

Hi all,

I got about 160K on my Tahoe now, I know thats a lot of miles. lol. But its a pre-07 model so I've had it since about April 2006, but it is the new body style. But I was wondering is there a pre-determined mileage before changing out the serpentine belt? I havent had any issues with it ever, but I don't want to push my luck. I dont know too much about our engines, but if this belt snaps while driving, won't some serious damage be done to the engine?

Thanks in advance!

whoa... 160k on factory belts? I changed mine at 120K and they were getting bad. I would replace them with Good Year Gator Backs. Very good belt. I also replaced the ac tensioner and the 2 pulleys for the main belt drive.

id imagine they're wore out if they're original..have you looked at them?

and as mentioned if you do the ac belt do the tensioner also as its a known weak point

LOL! I know! From a visual inspection they look to be fine. There is some shine to them. I will take a much closer look when I have time. But I've never had an issue, or at least not that I know about. Thanks for the info, when I replace them, I will replace the ac tensioner and the 2 pulleys as well. Thanks!

lol! Yes I've looked at them. They seem fine to me. I will try to take pics of all the belts. I havent noticed any cracking, but I haven't gone over them with a fine tooth comb either. lol! Will do on the ac tensioner. Thanks!

AC Belt: GOODYEAR Part # 4040377

AC Tensioner: GOODYEAR Part # 49276

Alternator and Power Steering Tensioner: GOODYEAR Part # 49275

Alternator and Power Steering Idler Pulley: GOODYEAR Part # 49154

Alternator and Power Steering Belt: GOODYEAR Part # 4060935

I had trouble finding the Alternator and Power Steering belt. I had to go back in my email. For some reason they don't list it any more but if you put the part number in it will come up. Mine fit perfectly and I haven't had a single problem.

Amazon bring all of these up if you want to do it through them. Or rockauto, or wherever...
