Default 2007 Tahoe MPG!!!!

Well i have had my 2007 tahoe ltz for about 3 weeks, and have about 2400 miles on it, and to be completly honest i am gettin tired of wait for the gas mileage to increase. The other morning on the way to work i turned 14 on the lie-o-meter. I have talked to a few other people who say they are gettin around the same...anyone gettin any better out of a 4wd.

I'm feeling your pain. I bought my '07 LTZ on July 1 and I've managed to get all of 12.9 MPG. I've even been babying it to see if I can squeeze any more miles out of my $70 tanks of gas - no luck. I even had the cruise control on going down the freeway and not only did I not get over 16 MPG, but it never dropped from V8 to V4. Long way from the 21 MPG highway that GM has been bragging about. The '97 F150 I traded in got better mileage than this.

We're getting about 16.4 and we drive about 70% city and 30% highway. Remember, the mileage statements from GM are EPA estimate and not actual . Actual is always less depending on location, load in the vehicle, driving conditions, altitude and temperature.

Wanna hear the funny part? My 2006 Z06 (7.0L LS7 427 cu-in motor) gets 17.2 and I've been having a LOT of fun with it. If I drove that thing like a baby and mostly on the highway in 6th gear, I'd have no problem squeezing 22 mpg out of. The instant "lie-o-meter" says 39 mpg when I'm in 6th gear doing 65 just purring along at 1,200 rpm's

I'm getting 11.9 in my ltz 4.4, the dealer said to try mid-grade gas, the truck runs a little smoother, but now i'm getting 10.9 mpg. i drive with a pretty good lead foot, mostly highway driving at 80 to 85 mph - i know that doesn't help, but i did the baby thing, slow starts, speed limit, and cruise control for approx 50 miles, i got 15.9, i don't think i can get any better than that. The 03 lightning i traded in got about 11 mpg no matter how i drove, and it took 91 octane, so all in all i'm getting about the same milage with a significantly less fuel cost.

I've ordered an exhaust and am looking at cold air intakes, i'll report on any improvements.

I changed the front O2 sensors in my '11 5.3 Tahoe and went from 15.9 avg. to 17.9 avg. on the dash computer. 103k miles on the old sensors. Mileage staying up and solid now with 1500 miles on the new AC O2 sensors.
Range AFM eliminator installed for 70k miles also.
