Default 2007 Tahoe navigation system

I am in the process of purchasing a 2007 Tahoe for my brother in Germany. The Tahoe has a navigation system and overhead DVD system. I believe the navigation system is made by DENSO. I am told this navigation system does not work in Germany. My brother would like to know if there is anything (like a disc) that he can purchase so this navigation system works in Germany. He has been told numerous answers and is now totally confused. Also the DVD player may not work in Germany because they use the PAL system. Can you tell me what he needs to do or is this equipment totally useless in Germany.

Unfortunately that web site was not helpfull. There is a contact phone number which I have called. I was told the navigation in the Tahoeis designed for use only in the USA and parts of Canada. They indicated nothing can be done about it. No disc is available. I can't believe there is not something that can be done to make the navigation sytem work overseas. I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this.

Thank you

Have you tried call the 877 number and ask the people who accually send out the discs?
877-NAV-DISC
They may have a better answer for you, or know where one might be found.

As far as the PAL system for the DVD player, the software of the radio can be updated to allow playing those types of movies.

It is entirely possible that GM may not offer an overseas disc for this truck. May I offer another suggestion? What about replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket radio with navigation that will do something overseas? To be honest, the aftermarket navigation stuff surpasses the tahoe's factory unit. My factory unit, even with the newest nav disc, doesn't have half of the features of an aftermarket system.
