i have a problem with a tranny clunk when coming to a stop. i am thinking it is the yoke but the dealer told me that my truck has the newer nickel plated yoke and it must be fine. they did not inspect it though. anyone else have the nickel plated yoke and found the need to clean it and or lubricate it? thanks!

The "hockey stick" trim is the black plastic trim on the outside of the rear doors at the base of the windows. The early build '07 NBS had a problem w/ them coming off.

The dry yoke would be my first guess also... here is a pretty good article on it if you chose to inspect / lube it yourself, I would recommend using the grease GM recommends for it rather then the bearing grease the article suggest, I believe the part number is P/N 12345879

Checking the U-joints out as well is a good idea but I'd guess that if the dealer was under the truck they checked the joints...

thanks for the responses. the dealer has suggested to me that b/c my yoke is nickel plated, there is no need to remove it and clean it. they say the old non-nickel plated version would need cleaning. not mine. they said my transmission was short about 3/4 of 1 quart of fluid and that was causing the issue. i will say that it has helped a little but not totally. any thoughts on what they are telling me? thank you.

Exclamation 1st clutch repaired and sprag replaced

The dealer could not duplicate the sound and will not ride with me to for me to show them and finally the transmission had a final slip this past week and is now in the shop waiting to be taken apart and a [sprag] replaced. I had an 03 prior and never had an issue. Has anyone had their transmission repaired with no future problems? I am concerned that this may be an issue I have to deal with after the warranty wears out.
I had sprag replaced at 42000 luckily I was able to shift it down then up, limped it from DE to NY

Having major problems with power lift gate on 07 Tahoe LT. This will be the 3rd issue with the same problem. Now, the GMPP Extended Warranty expired. Need another Control Module. Dealer said $1,720 to repair. Sound outrageous. Is anyone else having this problem? It seems that the door is too heavy for the motor and/or the motor is underpowered. Also, I wonder if this same setup is on the Acadia and Buick small SUV. Thoselift gates are much lighter

Welcome to the forum
Sorry to hear about your troubles with the lift gate, when was the last time you had it serviced ( the lift gate) as any warranty work is covered by a 12/12.. and if you are in fact at the 3rd strike for the same repair you may want to look into lemon laws...

right I would not settle for 3 of the same issues especially if you went to the same dealer for all repairs of the liftgate.
