2007 Tahoe whizzing noise?
I have a "whizzing" noise from the front of my engine. The noise raises and lowers with RPM. I'm thinking maybe the Serpentine belt tensioner is gone. So, thinking maybe change both Serp and A/C belts and tensioners as well as the water pump pulley.
Good idea?
Anyone have any tips on determining exactly where the whizzing sound is coming from?
I placed a long ratchet extension against different components and against me ear. The one that seems to make the most racket is the Serp tensioner.
Truck has 87k miles on it and thinking just replace everything. Belts and tensioners.
Any opinions on this strategy? Don't want to waste money, but can't help but think all this stuff should be replaced at this mileage.
Thanks!
